Hi all

I have on order a 6ft tank with 5ft sump on its way. This should hold around 750litres, and according to the equation I can hold 16 discus (?)

I was going for a bare bottom tank but with this amount of water, I was wondering what you would do??

Please let me know.

Thanks
George

It will be a display tank, but always found it easier looking after discus with bare bottoms !!! Trouble with having planted tanks is snails and plant feed.

Might go for breeding and poss show.

I'd have a biotope tank, or biotypical tank. you can opt for a particular river and have fish only found in that, biotope, or biotypical, as in it's typically Amazonian stream.

And for trouble with discus in planted tanks - they don't do well in them until they are at least a year old. IME.
